Jack Kerouac’s 1957 autobiographical masterpiece, On The Road, has topped the reading lists of countless Americans. (Time magazine even named it among its 100 best English-language novels from 1923-2005.) And now the much-loved book is crossing into cinematic territory, thanks to Brazilian director Walter Salles and Puerto Rican screenwriter Jose Rivera (The Motorcycle Diaries).
The long-anticipated movie now has a handful of cast members as well, including Kristen Stewart, Sam Riley and Garrett Hedlund. Production for On The Road is set to begin in August.
