Currently in the middle of it’s fourth season, NBC’s once-popular sci-fi drama Heroes has been axed by the network.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the sharp declines in the show’s ratings combined with NBC’s decision to pick up three new hour-long shows, including J.J. Abrams’ Undercovers, led to the show’s termination.
The network also announced the cancellation of it’s long-running police drama Law & Order, as well as two of it’s new medical dramas Trauma and Mercy, last week.

The fourth season of Heroes ended in February. They were not in the middle of the season, but it did end with a cliffhanger, like every other season.
Wow. As far as Law and Order goes, NBC just secured themselves the spot of best network for destroying venerable franchises. First The Tonight Show, now this?
Well, let's hope Undercover does blow as much as Lost did. Lamest season finale EVER.
