Musician and producer Thomas Dolby—who’s best known for his 1982 electro-pop hit “She Blinded Me With Science”—has a three-part concept album in the works, and he’s enlisting the help of several other musicians to complete the project.
According to TwentyFourBit, the forthcoming album will be Dolby’s first in nearly 20 years, and will feature Regina Spektor (she sings as an Eastern European waitress on the track “Evil Twin Brother”), Imogen Heap and Dire Strait’s Mark Knopfler along with other guest contributors.
The album is divided into three parts, “Amerikana,” “Oceanea” and “Urbanoia,” and is a storytelling affair. “What I think I always did best was write songs that told a story beyond the usual pop relationship songs,” Dolby said in a statement.
If all goes according to plan, the album will be out sometime this summer.

"According to TwentyFourBit, the forthcoming album will by Dolby’s first..." How about "be" Dolby's first.
"The album is divided into three parts, Amerikana, Urbanoia and Amerikana," Amerikana twice.
Yeah, I'm kinda being a jerk by pointing out these things, but wasn't even a long post. If web publications are going to evolve, editing is going to have to improve all around.
Dolby is a fascinating artist. If you have a chance to see him perform live, don't miss it.
Thanks for the typo catch, sadbunny. As for the doubling up on "Amerikana," that was a reporting error of TwentyFourBit's that we erroneously re-reported. I checked the original Billboard story and updated ours above.
Sounds like a perfect project for Trent Reznor to get involved in.
