Martin Scorsese's George Harrison Documentary Could Premiere Next Year
In between developing The Irishman and filming The Invention of Hugo Cabret this summer, our favorite living director, Martin Scorsese, is also preparing to release his documentary on George Harrison, Living in the Material World: George Harrison, next year. Phew.
According to Yahoo!, the film will cover “the whole of Harrison’s life before, during and after his time in the world’s most popular and successful band.” Scorsese says he has been piecing the project together with the help of Olivia, Harrison’s widow, for the past three years.
He claims the documentary will feature never-before-seen footage of the former Beatles guitarist as well as previously-unreleased songs. “Ultimately, we’re trying to have the development of his own music tell the story, if we can,” Scorsese told Yahoo!. “And the images that he shot, that shot, a lot of this is telling the story. There are some famous bits and some very interesting new material.”
