Elijah Wood is a busy guy these days.
To begin, he’s rounded up material from an eclectic mix of music to create a benefit compilation for a favorite non-profit, reports NME.com. The album, called Elysium: A Benefit for the Art of Elysium, features bands like Sonic Youth, The Kills, and Sleigh Bells, to name a few. It’s available on iTunes, and proceeds go to support Art of Elysium, an organization that arranges for artists and musicians to visit critically ill children.
On top of that, EW.com reports that Wood is set to make his television debut in a David Zuckerman (Family Guy) adaptation of the Australian series, Wilfred. Production will begin later this summer on the comedy, which chronicles the everyday life of a guy (Wood) and his dog. But this is no average dog. It’s actually played by star of the Aussie version, Jason Gann, dressed up in a dog suit and acting like, in Zuckerman’s words, “Russell Crowe on a bender.”
It sounded pretty weird to us, too—until we watched a YouTube video of the Aussie show’s highlights. See for yourself below. And below that, check out Elysium’s complete tracklisting.
