Leonardo DiCaprio (Shutter Island, Growing Pains) has signed on to portray the FBI’s controversial founder and long-time head honcho J. Edgar Hoover in a biopic to be directed by Clint Eastwood, reports Deadline.com.
Eastwood, who acquired the script from Dustin Lance Black (writer of Eastwood’s Changeling) is also producing the film alongside Brian Grazer (Robin Hood) and Rob Lorenz (Mystic River).
No word yet about what portion of Hoover’s life the movie, set to be released in 2012, will focus on. Political scandals? Torture tactics? Cross-dressing rumors? Oh, the possibilities!
