Leonard Cohen Readies New Album

Legendary singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen is working on a new album that may be released next year. According to Rolling Stone, the 75-year-old is self-producing the compilation, which will contain 10-11 songs he wrote before embarking on the extensive international tour he kicked off in 2008.

Cohen, who was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame last week, says he composed some of the new tracks with the help of longtime collaborators Sharon Robinson and Anjani. He premiered several of the songs, including “Feels So Good,” while on tour last year.

The currently-untitled album will mark the first original material to be released by Cohen in six years. This will also be the poet’s first attempt at self-producing. While no official release date or tracklist for the upcoming release has been announced, Cohen told Rolling Stone: “God willing it will be finished next spring.”
