Of Montreal Announces New Album, Releases First Single for Download

And of course there is a song called “Sex Karma.”

Of Montreal will release its 10th album, titled False Priest, on Sept. 13 in the UK and Europe and Sept. 14 in the U.S. Frontman Kevin Barnes and Master of the Mixing Boards Jon Brion (Kanye West, Punch Brothers) shared production duties.

The new album was recorded first at Barnes’ Apollinaire Rave studio in Athens, Ga., with additional recording and mixing done at Brion’s Ocean Way studio in Los Angeles.

In addition to the production credit from Brion, there are other Super Awesome Celebrity Guest Stars worth noting on the album. Genre-defying Atlanta songstress (and Paste ‘Best of 2010… So Far’ recipient) Janelle Monáe is featured on two tracks. And though that hoped-for Beyonce collaboration isn’t in the cards right now, her sister Solange (a friend and fan of the band) makes a guest appearance on “Sex Karma.”
