Stanley Tucci Joins Captain America Cast

Stanley Tucci (Julie & Julia, The Lovely Bones) is the latest in a series of star-studded casting announcements for the upcoming Captain America movie. The actor will play Dr. Abraham Erskine, the radioactive spider of the Captain America franchise.

But really: Erskine is a German scientist who develops a top-secret serum that gives Steve Rogers the powers to be Captain America. Tucci joins Chris Evans as Steve, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Hugo Weaving as the villian, the Red Skull. The movie is set to be released in Summer 2011.
