Starz Cancels Party Down
Despite our last-ditch efforts to save Party Down, including six reasons you should watch Party Down and an extra few reasons with the airing of the finale last week, the show has been axed by Starz.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the network pulled the plug on both Party Down and Gravity. In a statement confirming the news, executive vice president of programming Stephan Shelansky said they are “grateful to everyone involved in the shows, and are proud to have had them on the channel.”
Too bad, too. Although the show lost Jane Lynch to Glee at the end of last season and leading man Adam Scott to Parks & Recreation this go-round, it still had the potential to continue being great. But poor ratings and the loss of major cast members was obviously leading to something bad. Now we’ll just have to satisfy ourselves by watching the same episodes on Netflix over and over. And over.
