With movie reboots of old heroes like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Spider-Man popping up left and right, it’s no surprise that someone would dig deep into the ’80s and pull out Thundercats. But instead of a movie (which was rumored in 2007 but hit snags in the development stages), the beloved cartoon will return as, well, a cartoon. But a cooler, shinier one!
Spinoff reports that Warner Bros. Animation recently announced that it is working in collaboration with Studio4°C, the Japanese studio behind The Animatrix, to release the reimagining of the series.
Prince Lion-O and friends will be back in an anime style, Warner Bros. Animation’s first series of the type. The series will be “a sweeping tale combining swords and science and boasting ferocious battles with the highest of stakes. As the forces of good and evil battle each other in the quest for the fabled Stones of Power, Lion-O and his champions learn valuable lessons of loyalty, honor and mortality in every episode,” Warner Bros. said in a statement.
The series is set to air on Cartoon Network in 2011. Fingers crossed for an announcement about a Captain Planet remake!

Michael Bay Set Make Live-Action Teenage Mutant…
HI WHITNEY!
MY LOVE FOR YOU IS GO!!!!!1!!!
Good post ! Thundercats was about an original universe mixing fantasy (swords, magic, clothing) and science fiction (planet colonization, spaceships). An explosive mixture which left ordinary at the time. My post here : http://bit.ly/cp1PaY
