Sure, you could celebrate our great nation this July the old-fashioned way—by consuming too much with your friends and possibly lighting some stuff on fire. But isn’t that what you did last year?
Luckily, the good folks at the Daytrotter Sessions have an event that might just make you rethink your Independence Day plans. They’re hosting an event called Barn on the Fourth of July, and it’ll take place in the same Codfish Hollow Barn in Iowa where they recorded their Barnstormer Sessions.
Dawes, Justin Townes Earle, Jonny Corndawg and Young Man are slated to perform at the event, plus there is one special, secret guest headliner band to be announced later. According to the Daytrotter site, they say they can’t tell us who it is yet, “but rest assured” it reads, “you don’t want to miss this. It’s a band of five men. It’s all we can say. It will blow your minds.” Fingers crossed they got Journey!
Buy tickets to the show, and take some guesses as to who the surprise guest will be here.
