Tribe, Lauryn Hill, Snoop, DJ Premier Added to Rock the Bells Lineup

It’s been 17 years since Snoop (Doggy) Dogg released his breakthrough album, Doggystyle, but now a whole new generation will get to experience jams like “Gin and Juice” and “Doggy Dogg World” when he performs the album in its entirety at the 2010 Rock The Bells Festival.

Snoop—backed by Warren G (of “Regulate” fame), Tha Dogg Pound, RBX and Lady of Rage—is one of several exciting additions to the Rock the Bells lineup announced yesterday.

And Snoop’s not the only one performing a set of his most influential album. He joins a few other recent additions to the bill, including A Tribe Called Quest, who will be performing their 1993 smash Midnight Marauders, which features iconic jams like “Award Tour,” “Oh My God” and “Electric Relaxation.” Lauryn Hill’s set, which will be “prepared exclusively for Rock the Bells,” will include material from her 1998 landmark The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, as well as other solo works and songs from her former group, The Fugees.

Gang Starr co-founder DJ Premier, another new addition, will be performing a tribute to his late musical partner Guru, who passed in April due to Cancer.

These new additions join an already-formidable lineup, including Wu-Tang Clan performing Enter the 36 Chambers, Rakim doing Paid In Full, KRS-One taking on Criminal Minded and Slick Rick rocking The Great Adventures Of. Supporting acts include Murs, Clipse, Wiz Khalifa, Brother Ali and many more.
