His band, Brooklyn-based TV on the Radio, is taking a hiatus, but multi-instrumentalist and producer Dave Sitek has yet to slow down. In addition to becoming one of our favorite producers (assisting the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Holly Miranda and Wale, to name a few) and cutting a rap mixtape with Aziz Ansari, Sitek is also working a solo project under the monicker Maximum Balloon.
According to Pitchfork, Maximum Balloon’s full-length debut will be released in August via DGC/Interscope. The album is reported to feature multiple collaborations, but further details on with whom or for what have yet to be disclosed. Until we can provide more information, add/friend/like Sitek’s latest venture on Maximum Balloon’s MySpace and Facebook pages.
