The most recent YouTube video (below) of the P.S. 22 chorus is sure to warm even the coldest hipster’s heart. The group, which is comprised of about 60 fifth graders from Staten Island, N.Y., has covered Passion Pit’s “Let Your Love Grow Tall.”

For a few years now, the chorus has been catching ears and racking up views on YouTube for covers of songs like Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind” and Phoenix’s “Lisztomania,” and its list of accomplishments is already impressive. These kids have felt “higher and higher and higher!” on Passion Pit’s Manners, been the focus of a New York Magazine piece, appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and made Stevie Nicks cry with their rendition of “Landslide.

Next up, the P.S. 22 chorus will be named Webby Artist of the Year at the June 14 Webby Awards ceremony. The awards celebrate excellence on the Internet and, once again, the kids in the chorus are in rather respectable company—other honorees include Roger Ebert and Amy Poehler.

Just imagine what they could get done if they didn’t have homework.
