"Weird Al" Plays a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR

“Like a Surgeon.” “Eat It.” “Amish Paradise.” These are just three of the countless, iconic rock parodies immortalized by the master of all that is rock parody, “Weird Al” Yankovic. Now, (finally, right?) you can see and hear Yankovic performing three of his hits at a Tiny Desk Concert he recently did for NPR.

“Weird Al”—who is 50 years old, if you can believe it—and his band seem close-knit, all huddled with respective instruments around the same mic. His session began with “You Don’t Love Me Anymore,” an original in the soothing style of James Taylor, the lyrics of which cause the NPR folks to chuckle softly in the background.

He performed two other songs for NPR: “Good Old Days,” an acoustic original with great harmonies, followed by the Charles Nelson Reilly-inspired, White Stripes-styled “CNR.” He also took time to chat about desk jobs, haunted tambourines and parody ideas in between songs as his band tuned.

Watch and/or listen to the entire performance at NPR.org.
