Conan O'Brien, Glee and Some Old Show Called Lost Rack up 2010 Emmy Nominations
“Congrats to my staff on 4 Emmy nominations,” Conan O’Brien tweeted shortly after the 2010 Emmy nominations were revealed this morning. “This bodes well for the future of The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.”
The short-lived late night show is one of several programs that received numerous Emmy nods for the 2010 awards. The Jay Leno Show (hosted by the former and current Tonight Show maestro) was snubbed in favor of Leno’s one-time protege.
Among other shows recognized are fan favorites like Glee, which gained a whopping 19 nominations (including nods for actors Matthew Morrison, Chris Colfer and Mike O’Malley); Modern Family, with 14 nominations; Mad Men with 17 nominations and the now-over-but-still-loved Lost with 12 nominations, including a Best Actor nod for Matthew Fox.
The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air Aug. 24 and be hosted by Jimmy Fallon.
