Deerhunter Finishing Up New Album

Hot off the heels of a tour with Spoon, Strange Boys and Micachu, Deerhunter recently recorded their fourth full-length with Atlanta-based producer Ben Allen. The news surfaced after music-consulting firm Milk Money tweeted, “Deerhunter here in Maze with Ben Allen mixing new LP. Everybody’s excited about the sound,” earlier this week.

Allen is responsible for mixing Animal Collective’s latest efforts, both the Fall Be Kind EP and Merriweather Post Pavilion, as well as Gnarls Barkley’s St. Elsewhere.

According to Creative Loafing, Deerhunter’s latest effort was recorded at Chase Park Transduction in Athens this past month. The band was also recently featured in We Fun: Atlanta, GA Inside Out, a documentary about the Atlanta music scene that was released at independent music stores on Record Store Day, April 17.
