Iggy And The Stooges Leave Raw Power in the Hands of the Fans
Iggy and the Stooges have taken to 2010 with a vengeance, unleashing a deluxe reissue of Raw Power, working on new material and touring with a vengeance. Hardly content to be merely active old-time rock stars, they are now hosting a contest that will allow fans to film a performance of Raw Power at All Tomorrow’s Parties in Monticello, New York.
Instead of hiring out professional (and expensive) A/V equipment for a taping of the show, six fans will get the opportunity to both film the notoriously riotous concert and interview Iggy and the Stooges at the show. Fans are called to submit videos to In the Hands of the Fans either explaining why they should win or demonstrating questions they would ask the band.
The final choice of winners will be made by director Joey Carey. The final result, which should be released sometime in 2011, will be a documentary-type feature that is “part concert film and part reality TV show about the journey of the fans.”
