Metro, one of Chicago’s most prominent music venues, is releasing a live compilation that will benefit Rock for Kids, a non-profit that provides music lessons for underprivileged children and teens in the area.
Pitchfork reports that the album, titled Metro: The Official Bootleg Series, Volume 1, will feature live tracks from the Flaming Lips, Sleater-Kinney, the Decemberists and Guided By Voices, among others.
The album is set to drop July 22, but will be available at the Rock for Kids booth at the Pitchfork Music Festival beginning July 16. There will also be a listening party at the venue on the date of the compilation’s release.
