M.I.A. Releases New Single, Remixes

As the release of M.I.A.‘s much-anticipated new album draws near, the controversial songstress has released another single, “Teqkilla,” in addition to two “XXXO” remixes, one of which features Jay-Z. All three songs can be streamed on M.I.A.’s MySpace, and “Teqkilla” is already available for purchase on iTunes.

This is the fourth track M.I.A. has released from her forthcoming album, /\/\/\Y/\, which drops July 13 via N.E.E.T. and XL Recordings. Her first single, “Born Free,” and the graphic nature of its accompanying music video, caused quite a stir on the interwebs, as did her reaction to Lynn Hirschberg’s introspective New York Times feature.
