Patton Oswalt Makes Elaborate Tour Announcement, Gives Big Props to Kyle Kinane
The remainder of the summer will see Patton Oswalt bouncing around the United States for a series of live stand-up shows. More than that, “three different versions” of the comedian will be touring, according to a blog post written by Oswalt himself.
Up first is Oswalt and a handful of as-yet-undisclosed comedian friends, doing shows in San Diego during Comic-Con. Next, there will be a few shows with Blaine Capatch, Karen Kilgariff and Eddie Pepitone, during which Oswalt say he’ll be attempting to recreate a February routine that boasted this exact lineup. At that show a few months ago, he says, “the three of us and the audience gelled so perfectly.” Finally, Oswalt will take the stage by himself to share his mostly off-the-cuff humor, with jokes inspired by experiences touring on the road.
Comedian on-the-rise Kyle Kinane will open for Oswalt at most of these shows. He will take a brief hiatus for his own six-date tour. “Right now, every performance of his is pretty much the same Kyle—on fire, hungry, young and on his way up,” Oswalt writes.
