Despite the greatness of her 2006 album Back to Black, most of the headlines Amy Winehouse has made in recent years have involved her drama-addled personal life, disheveled appearance and seemingly-perilous health. Silly us for thinking that footage from her performance with her Back to Black producer Mark Ronson two nights ago may have changed that.
Still sporting her trademark towering black bouffant and teeny skinny jeans, Winehouse appeared at London’s Club 11 to lend her illustriously soulful pipes to “Valerie,” the Zutons song she and Ronson covered together for his 2007 album Version.
It’s been awhile since Winehouse performed “Valerie” with Ronson, so perhaps that’s why the majority of her lyrics are borderline unintelligible. Maybe she’s just been so busy scrapping her life back together and working on a Back to Black follow-up that she just didn’t have time to rehearse! Right?
Right?
