He’s on a horse. He’s on a bike. But wait: Actor Isaiah Mustafa found unsuspected success as the face of Old Spice and earned himself a talent deal with NBC, the network looking to fast track him into television. His boastful, deep-voiced, washboard-ab’d Old Spice persona continues to get a lot of attention, however.
Mustafa has reappeared recently in a follow-up to the original Superbowl ad that won him so much attention. Not only does he swan dive into the night of your dreams, but he’s also riding a motorcycle.
In a particularly brilliant move to capitalize on the commercial’s success, Old Spice kick-started a series of videos yesterday featuring Mustafa answering viewer questions from Reddit, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook. Mustafa created a series of over 100 (and counting) 30-second videos responding to questions and comments from regular users, journalists and celebrities like Alyssa Milano and Demi Moore, dispensing advice and his own industry secrets. Among them, a book of enchanting success-filled people that are winning at life and deserve cakes.
If the tiny hands that emanate from Mustafa’s deep man-voice can’t massage your vocal chords into laughter, we don’t know that anything can. There are an enormous amount of the videos over at Old Spice’s YouTube channel and they seem to keep coming, but you can check out some of our favorites below:
