Kick-ass revived and revitalized the idea of “girl power” in a blaze of guns and foul language from 13-year-old Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl. In his new movie, Zack Snyder of 300 and Watchmen fame amps up the comic book-style archetype in a flash of scantily-clad women fighting things. Lots of things. Things like samurai, dragons, police cops, and their own confinement.

Sucker Punch tells the story of a woman institutionalized against her will, who then devises escape into a rich fantasy world full of things that want to kill her and her other institutionalized woman friends. Oh, it also has Vanessa Hudgens, of High School Musical fame, and Jon Hamm. Sound crazy? Sure. Look cool? Absolutely. But we’ll let you judge for yourself.
