The networks’ annual press tour is in full swing and churning out a number of headlines about upcoming shows and fan favorites. In what is (to us) some of the most exciting news, 30 Rock will be airing a live episode in October.
The show scooped a handful of Emmy nominations this year and continues to be hilarious. Plus, top talent at 30 Rock have plenty of experience with live shows like Saturday Night Live, and their show is about a similarly-formatted show; it’s so meta, it can’t help but be awesome.
Angela Bromstad, NBC’s Primetime Entertainment president, said during the press tour: “I can’t imagine a series more suited to do an incredible live episode, thanks to its many cast, writers and producers, who hail from TV’s most renowned live series, SNL.”
The live show will air from Studio 8H Oct. 14 and the cast will perform the episode in its entirety twice—once for each coast.
