Amy Adams, Viggo Mortensen Join On The Road Adaptation

Maybe Viggo Mortensen is only going to act in movies with “road” in the title from here on out.

The actor and star of The Road has joined the cast of the anticipated Francis Ford Coppola-produced, Walter Salles-directed adaptation of On The Road. According to Deadline, Mortensen will play William S. Burroughs proxy Old Bull Lee and fellow new addition Amy Adams will play his hard-living wife Jane.

Mortensen and Adams join castmates Kirsten Dunst (Camille), Kristin Stewart (Marylou), Tron: Legacy‘s Garrett Hedlund (Dean Moriarty) and Control’s Sam Riley (Sal Paradise).

On The Road is set to begin filming this month, Deadline reports.
