Animal Collective's Avey Tare Goes Solo

Joining the ranks of his fellow bandmate, Panda Bear, Avey Tare (aka Dave Portner) of Animal Collective is releasing his first solo album this fall. The nine-track effort, Down There, will drop Oct. 26 via Animal Collective’s imprint, Paw Tracks.

AC’s own Deakin (Josh Dibb) recorded the album at an old church in New York.
