In a recent interview with The Quietus, James Murphy pulled a Brett Favre, revealing that LCD Soundsystem may not soon be retiring after all.
Murphy has previously said that This is Happening would be the group’s final album, but yesterday he told The Quietus the following:
“We’ll still make some music, but playing together is such an Herculean thing because everyone lives in different parts of the world and has lives. But we’ll still be making LCD Soundsystem music and stuff; we just need to go back and have it be a part of our lives rather than our whole lives. We’ll do some 12”s and things like that. I just need to get away from it being a big thing.”
Murphy also revealed that the group “might even make an album.” Don’t get too excited, though: Following the massive stint of current dates, it doesn’t sound like LCD Soundsystem will be hitting the road much. “I’m not counting anything out other than touring professionally,” he said.
