Canadian sketch comedy troupe Kids in the Hall have reformed after over a decade since the finale of their TV series of the same name to create Death Comes to Town on Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Now, those south of the Maple Leaf flag can enjoy it on IFC.
IFC broadcasts all five original members (Dave Foley, Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney and Scott Thompson) in a weekly 30-minute scripted comedy program called Death Comes to Town. The dark-humor series originally aired on Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and follows the same sense of cult surrealism KITH established in the late ‘80s. And don’t worry, there’s cross-dressing again, too.
All five Kids co-write all eight murder-mystery episodes taking place in the fictional town of Shuckton, Ontario. McCulloch calls Death something akin the lovechild of Canadian sitcom Corner Gas and David Lynch’s Twin Peaks.
Death Comes to Town premiered Friday night on IFC at 10 p.m. ET with back-to-back episodes. You can watch the trailer below:
