Ricky Gervais Says He's Working on a Chinese Office

The star of the British version of The Office, Ricky Gervais, announced on his blog this week that a Chinese version of the show is in development.

After Steve Carell announced he was leaving the U.S. Office, which Gervais created and produces, Gervais was rumored to be replacing his part because the two both play the role of office manager Michael Scott. Gervais, however, recently said he would not be taking the role.

Gervais revealed no further details about the Chinese version of the popular sitcom, where it would be filmed or if the content would differ. “How cool is that?” Gervais muses in the post. “I’m worried they will pull out when they see the first episode of An Idiot Abroad though.”
