Oblivians, Best Coast, King Khan, Many More Awesome Bands to Play Scion Garage Fest

August 31, 2010  |  3:00pm

Scion AV is hosting a fantastic-looking garage-rock festival in Lawrence, Kan. on Oct. 2.

Sure the term “garage” is a little elastic here (some might consider The Oblivians a bit grittier and visceral than, say, the beachside popsicle that is Best Coast), but this extravaganza is liberal(ly awesome) in its curatorial ways.

Split between four venues and likely to split your face right open with excellence, the festival’s lineup so far includes the following:

The Oblivians
The Gories
The Raveonettes
The Greenhornes
The Ponys
King Khan & the Shrines
Cloud Nothings
Best Coast
The Oh Sees
Human Eye
Times New Viking
Hunx & His Punx
The Clean
Gentleman Jesse and His Men
Rooftop Vigilantes
Tyvek
Cola Freaks
Nodzzz
Happy Birthday
Gaye Blades
Digital Leather
Bad Sports
Sex Beet
Teenager
Garotas Suecas
White Wires
Natural Child

Use the money you save on admission (that’s right, it’s a totally free, RSVP-style event) to load up on earplugs.
