Kieron Williamson picked up a paint brush at age five. Two years later, his oil and watercolor landscapes are already earning him hundreds of thousands of dollars and worldwide recognition.
Hailing from Norfolk, U.K., the 7-year-old (also known as “Mini Monet”) recently sold a collection of 33 paintings for $236,850, according to the Huffington Post. Art collectors from New York, Arizona and South Africa traveled to the U.K.-based gallery selling Williamson’s work recently. In an Al Jazeera video report (below), Williamson’s parents say they are putting all of the money in a trust fund for the young artist.
Adrian Hill, owner of U.K. gallery displaying Williamson’s work, told The Daily Mail, “Kieron has probably become one of the most collectible artists currently exhibiting worldwide. We have never had this level of interest before.”
