St. Louis Celebrates Jeff Tweedy Day

If you live in the St. Louis area and didn’t get a chance to observe it yesterday, take a moment to toss on your favorite Wilco record for a belated Jeff Tweedy Day celebration!

As The Riverfront Times reports, yesterday StL Mayor Francis G. Slay officially declared Aug. 29 to be Jeff Tweedy Day in the city of St. Louis. Tweedy was in town to play Loufest, and he joked to the crowd that the declaration was “the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.”

“I guess none of you have to go to work tomorrow,” Tweedy said. “Because traditionally Jeff Tweedy Day is a three-day weekend.”
