Watch the Arcade Fire Cover Jay Reatard's "Oh It's Such A Shame"
Arcade Fire’s new album, The Suburbs, drops today via Merge. The album is also streaming on NPR, and the anthemic rock collective has announced plans to stream its Aug. 5 show at Madison Garden live with a multi-camera endeavor directed by Terry Gilliam. Phew. Now, if by some strange chance you just haven’t got enough of these folks yet, there’s more: a cover of Jay Reatard.
Win, Regine & Co. take the late Reatard‘s song "Oh It’s Such A Shame" and transform it, flawlessly, into something entirely their own. In fact, it’s so overwhelming that the camera of the fan who taped the performance can barely handle the audio. The fan himself can’t seem to comprehend, at least at the beginning, the Arcade Fire taking on Jay Reatard. You can check out the cover for yourself below:
