Amy Winehouse to Appear on Quincy Jones Tribute Album

It was questionable for a while, but yesterday Quincy Jones confirmed that Amy Winehouse will appear on his tribute album, Q: Soul Bossa Nostra.

Winehouse will reunite with Mark Ronson, who produced her Back to Black album, taking on the 1963 Lesley Gore song “It’s My Party.”

“Amy and I are both incredibly honored and excited to be recording this song for Quincy,” Ronson says in a statement. “The regard she holds him in is second to none. We’ve gone back and forth on this track, fixing and improving it until we were satisfied it was good enough for Quincy.”

It seems that it was indeed good enough for Quincy. The legendary producer had the following to say about Winehouse: “Amy’s talents as an artist are undisputable, and I am astounded not only by her voice but by her tremendous knowledge of and respect for music and its history. I am thrilled that she and Mark wanted to be a part of this album, and I absolutely love what they did to make the song their own.”

Q: Soul Bossa Nostra will hit stores on Nov. 9.
