Billy Joel's Music To Be Featured in Glee
If watching the inimitable, crazy-talented Matthew Morrison and Neil Patrick Harris join forces for “Piano Man” on Glee made your mouth water for some more show-choir-ized Billy Joel, you’re going to enjoy the upcoming season.
Joel recently told Access Hollywood that he’s allowing the hit Fox television show to use his music in future episodes.
When asked for the rights to Glee-ify his music, Joel said “‘Yeah! Go ahead. Use my stuff.’ I was in a chorus when I was in high school, why not?”
Joel’s extensive discography was put to good use in the 2002 Twyla Tharp jukebox musical, Movin’ Out, so the rest of his repertoire should find no trouble fitting into the Emmy and Academy Award-winning show. But what about the Piano Man himself? Will he grace our television sets anytime soon? According to Access Hollywood, that’s an unfortunate no.
“I’m just not a big TV actor type of guy," he said. "I’m a piano player.”
Glee starts up again September 21.
