New Ray Charles Rarities Comp Features a Duet with Johnny Cash

The legendary singer would have been 80 years old this month, and to celebrate, Concord Records is releasing a compilation of Ray Charles rarities.

Rare Genius: The Undiscovered Masters will be out on Oct. 26. The album features previously unreleased material dating back to the 1970s, including a duet with Johnny Cash on Kris Kristofferson’s “Why Me, Lord?”

The duet with the Man in Black was recorded in 1981 as part of an album that never saw the light of day.
