Mark Zuckerberg Plans to Give $100 Million to Public Schools Next Week

Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg aims to announce a $100 million donation on via Oprah, one week from today, Friday, Oct. 1.

The projected unveiling of this hefty grant benefitting public schools in Newark, N.J. happens to align with the release of The Social Network, the film detailing Zuckerberg’s launch of Facebook.

A lot of folks are speculating about Zuckerberg’s motives, but we say who cares? Funding for public schools is never be a bad thing, even if it’s some kind of pre-emptive strike against possibly-bad press.
