September 15’s Song of the Day on NPR was a doozy.

The way-too-cute twee couple dumps about a gallon of melted popsicles on top of Tom Waits’ “Long Way Home.”

The song, originally pulled from Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers & Bastards, once felt beautifully morose, but after the duo’s one-two punch of pop and glee, “Home” plays out like a new track.
