The xx Have No Plans for Second Album

Don’t get too excited for that follow-up to The xx’s Mercury Prize-winning debut just yet. Bassist Oliver Sim told the NME that the group has no plans to record a second album.

“There is no plan to even put out a second album,” he said. “There’s just a plan to start being creative again, with no big intentions.”

It sounds like a sophomore release will come in due time, but the band wants to do it on its own terms — as Sim added, “I suppose what I mean is, we’re going to write and record just for the love of it, even if we didn’t do anything with it.”
