Tim Burton's Frankenweenie Gets a Cast

There’s no Johnny Depp or Helena Bonham Carter this time around, but there are still some familiar faces attached to Tim Burton’s latest movie.

Deadline reports that the stop-motion animated Frankenweenie will feature voice work from Winona Ryder, Martin Landau, Martin Short and Catherine O’Hara.

The cast members have all worked with Burton in the past—Ryder in Edward Scissorhands and Beetle Juice, Landau in Ed Wood, Short in Mars Attacks!, and O’Hara in Beetle Juice and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Frankenweenie is based on a 1984 short by Burton, and it tells the tale of a man who brings his dog back to life after it is hit by a car. The movie will be released by Disney on March 9, 2012.
