Sufjan Stevens' Music to be Featured in a Ballet

Hot on the hells of Sufjan Stevens’ excellent new album, a Sufjan-inspired ballet is set to debut in New York next month.

The ballet will feature Stevens’ Enjoy Your Rabbit album, as performed by the Osso String Quartet. Choreographer Justin Peck told Pitchfork that the music served as inspiration for the dancers’ movements, saying, “The choreography I have been developing is wholly inspired by Sufjan’s music, which acts as sort of a blueprint to build the movement off of.”

The performances will take place Nov. 5 and 6 at Columbia University’s Miller Theatre. You can buy tickets here.
