For five years, Taco Bell has sponsored a program called Feed the Beat which has awarded gift certificates to a total of 365 solo musicians and bands. This year’s artists include Wavves, Andrew WK, Passion Pit, Everest, Best Coast, Suckers, Dr. Dog and Maps & Atlases. Check out the complete, extensive and somewhat surprising FtB artist roster.

According to their website, Feed the Beat aims to dismiss artists’ qualms in scoring meals on the road by providing them with a $500 Taco Bell allowance. No word on whether or not this is an antacid allowance.

Besides all the duct-taped wallets bursting with Taco Bell Bucks, the program shoots to use the good name of Taco Bell to score the music groups high-profile performances and recording opportunities.

Last but not least, Feed the Beat sponsors the Taco Bell Truck, a van traveling nationwide to various music festivals to stuff faces of bands and fans alike.
