Fiery Furnaces Ready 10 Releases for 2011

The brother/sister duo that consists of Matthew and Eleanor Friedberger will release a collective 10 albums next year.

Eleanor will put out one solo record next year, and not to be outdone by his sister, Matthew will answer with eight solo LPs of his own. Ahh, sibling rivalry.

Matthew’s albums, collectively titled Solos will all be released on vinyl between Jan. and Nov. 2011. His voice will be accompanied by a different, single instrument on each record.

The pair will also release a new Fiery Furnaces record, which they will begin recording after Thanksgiving. Friedberger says fans can expect things to get loud. “The songs are rock songs,” he said. "They’re pretty wordy, I guess. They definitely have melodies, though. They’re songs with words and tunes.” You can pre-order the albums here.
