Just a few months after leaving American Idol, Kara Dioguardi has revealed that she’s set to judge another TV singing competition.
However, don’t brace yourself for painful disco covers and Kara’s erroneous “Studio 57” references (we’re still face-palming over that one) just yet. Going Platinum will focus on singer-songwriters, and the contestants will perform original material each week. There won’t be any audience voting, either; the panel of judges will decide who gets the heave-ho.
The show will premiere on Bravo next year and will feature 12 contestants vying for a $100,000 publishing deal with Sony and a record deal with RCA/Jive. Dioguardi will serve as head judge, and Jewel will pull double duty as the show’s host and mentor to the aspiring singers.
