The Cars to Release First Album in 23 Years

Ric Ocasek has confirmed that The Cars have reunited to record their first album in more than two decades.

Ocasek will be joined by guitarist Elliot Easton, keyboardist Greg Hawkes and drummer David Robinson for the New Wave group’s first studio effort since 1987’s Door to Door. Original bassist Benjamin Orr died of cancer in 2000.

The Cars have posted a video teaser for the song “Blue Tip” on their Facbook page, and Ocasek told Showbiz411.com that he was “amazed at how we clicked when we got back together.” No word on any other album details.
