YouTube Ban in Turkey Lifted

After two years forbidding YouTube access due to videos insulting the country’s founder, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Turkey has ended its ban on the video-streaming website.

Ever since the insulting content was removed, there is no reason to continue the ban, Transport Minister Binali Yildrim told Huffington Post. “But we didn’t get here easily, we have been through a lot in the process,” Yildirim said on NTV television. “I hope that they have also learned from this experience and the same thing will not happen again. YouTube will hopefully carry out its organization in Turkey within the limits of law in the future.”
