Clash Biopic in the Works

We recently told you about an upcoming Joe Strummer biopic, and now it looks like Strummer’s bandmates will be headed to the silver screen as well.

London Calling will reportedly chronicle The Clash’s creation of their classic 1979 album of the same name. Former band members Mick Jones and Paul Simonon will executive produce the flick. Jez Butterworth will pen the script.

“Fans of The Clash all over the world have been waiting a long time to see their extraordinary story played out properly and accurately on the big screen,” producer Alison Owen told the BBC. “We’re happy that Mick and Paul have given the project their blessing and are on board to help steer the ship.”

There’s no word on who will play the legendary punks, but filming is set to begin next year. In the meantime, check out the video for “London Calling” below.
