Coldplay Reveals Concept Album Details

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has revealed that the band’s follow-up to 2008’s Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends will be a concept album.

“It’s from the point-of-view of two people who are a bit lost,” he told the BBC. “Two like-minded outsiders who meet in a very difficult environment and therefore have a journey together.”

However, Martin doesn’t want the concept to get in the way of fans’ personal connection to the music, adding that it’s “a concept album, but it’s supposed to be very personal within a big framework.”

The group has teamed up with super-producer Brian Eno for the as-yet-untitled record. No word on when it’ll be released.
